Your First Visit to Lakewood Baptist Temple

We welcome first time attenders!

Your first visit to Lakewood Baptist Temple will be friendly and enjoyable for your whole family. We want you to experience inspiring music, helpful teaching and preaching, friendly people, and a place where you feel welcome and "at home"!

Here are a few answers to your questions and what you might expect on your first visit.

1. Directions

We are located in the city of Lakewood, near the Town of Steilacoom at 10710 Military Rd SW. From I-5 take exit 124 (Gravelly Lake Dr) and turn left (if northbound) or right (if southbound) and stay to the left through the first two stoplights. Continue on for approx. 1.5 miles and turn left on Washington Blvd. SW. Continue on approx. 2.3 miles to our location.

2. Finding Nursery, Classes and Services

Our nursery and youth classes are held in the Lakes Square office center just west of the main church building. Some classrooms are located adjacent to the church. Please ask one of our ushers or greeters for assistance.

3. What's here for my children?

From pre-school age to teenagers, we have classes designed to teach at the appropriate level. Younger children are grouped by age for Bible lessons, then join together for Junior Church during our regular service. Our Youth Department has many activities throughout the week.

4. What is the Sunday morning schedule?

Bible study classes start at 9:30 a.m. each Sunday and usually dismiss by 10:30 a.m. By 10:45 a.m., adults and teenagers gather in the main church sanctuary for Service, while younger children gather in Lakes Square suite 4 for Junior Church.

5. How should I dress?

We do not have a dress code. Our ministry leaders and many of our church members dress in traditional "Sunday best" but many dress more casually.

6. Are there services at other times?

Yes, we have a Sunday evening service at 6:00 p.m. which is different than the morning service. Our Wednesday evening service at 7:00 p.m. includes a special prayer time after the message.

7. Am I expected to participate in the offering?

No. We don't invite you to Lakewood Baptist Temple for your offering. We want our service to be a gift to you. We hope you will find in this place a warm family spirit, truth from God's Word, and a place where you can grow in God's grace. Please don't feel any obligation to participate in the offering as a guest.
